METROPOLITAN COUNCIL SEEKS TWO HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTORS
The Human Resources Director develops programs, plans, policies, and procedures that integrate service delivery, support business strategy, and drive HR strategic initiatives across all five Metropolitan Council divisions that include approximately 4,500 employees.
We are hiring two HR Director positions to provide leadership, direction, and management to different areas of the Human Resources department. One director will oversee employee operations (talent management, labor relations, and benefits units) and the other will oversee employee administration (HR business partners, classification and compensation, learning and organizational development, and occupational health units). They may act in the absence of the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer, as well as provide cross-unit support in the other director's absence.
The ideal candidate for the HR Director roles is a strategic and forward-thinking individual with a passion for leading and developing talent, driving departmental change, and enhancing HR operations to support organizational success. They bring expertise in strategic planning, process improvement, and change management, ensuring HR practices align with business needs and create a positive impact.

The HR Director is based in our downtown Saint Paul office (with regular onsite meetings at our Metro Transit offices in Minneapolis and other Met Council facilities throughout the metro area), must live in Minnesota or Wisconsin, and has hybrid flexibility to work remotely.
