Assoc Business Unit Leader Posted Date: Feb 20, 2025 Requisition Number: 124390 Job Location: Hershey, PA Summary: The Hershey Company Reese Campus is a Non-Union facility integrated by four Business Units: Kit Kat, Peanut Butter, General Factory, and Reese Chocolate Processing, in a high-speed complex environment. The Associate Business Unit Leader for General Factory is responsible for providing leadership to all shifts within the General Factory Business Unit at The Reese Campus. The General Factory Business Unit consists of all Shipping, Receiving, Logistics, Peanut Butter, and Chocolate Paste Production. The position directly manages all daily activities and long-term objectives of their area or department, in conjunction with managers across shifts or departments. Responsible for plant and company goals by providing proactive, efficient, and reliable leadership in a three shift, seven day working environment. Independently performs all assignments after being given general instructions as to the results expected. Receives technical guidance on most unusual or complex problems. Takes the lead and initiates resolution of technical, unusual, or complex problems or issues. Exercise discretion in resolving issues and receives supervisory approval on proposed plans for strategy changes and new projects. Responsibility may extend across more than one location / area or shift. Independently leads teams and proposes, plans, and executes projects to eliminate the root cause of problems within the General Factory Business Unit. Independently executes projects of extremely high complexity which have a significant impact on the company's current and/or future business interests. Projects may be of a complex nature relating to equipment or people. Responsibilities: Responsible for determining appropriate delegation of assignments, following up and taking ownership of the delegated assignments for 3 salaried production supervisors and approximately 75 hourly employees across all shifts. Establish, monitor, and control the proper implementation and administration of all plant and department procedures. Leads creation and enforcement of standard operating procedures and work policies for operations and employees in the designated department. Coach, direct, train and develop supervisors to work efficiently across multiple career paths while supporting the manufacturing mission. Administers performance management. Establish and plan for all training that will ensure all members of the department are aligned with company, plant, and department objectives. Lead and maintain the team as a world class organization. Coordinate, organize and delivers communication activities, concerning objectives, results, and plans within and between the department and all other plant functions to assure total seamless operations. Makes necessary judgment calls on specific goal alignment to achieve manufacturing excellence. Ensure that all aspects of SAP are properly implemented and utilized. Analyze data, lead initiatives to change direction based on outcomes. Responsible for execution of projects plant wide. Oversee the preparation of the annual Logistics budget of approximately $27 million, directing the implementation, and maintaining strong budgetary control of direct, indirect and unit costs. Provide leadership and participates during problem solving across areas / depts. / shifts. Implements recommendations / solutions. These initiatives can involve people, product, or equipment issues. Provide vision and leadership to champion initiatives, drive and implement change to optimize the business focusing on safety, quality, and costs.
