Role and Responsibilities:


CW is looking for a friendly, hardworking person to join our team as a Floor Technician! No experience? No problem! We'll teach you everything you need to know. If you're ready to work, we're ready to help you succeed.



  • Work with a group of great people, including adults with disabilities or disabling conditions, to complete tasks.

  • Use buffer machines to polish floors and restore shine, especially in high-traffic areas.

  • Remove old wax or finish from floors and apply new wax or finish to restore shine and protect the surface.

  • Regularly sweep, dust mop, and wet mop hard-surface floors to keep them clean.

  • Perform tasks like vacuuming, spot cleaning, and shampooing carpets to keep them in good condition.

  • Use floor scrubbers to deep clean floors, especially in areas with heavy dirt build-up.

  • Secure work areas with safety barriers.

  • Report defective equipment, and move broken items to appropriate locations.

  • Introduce yourself to customers, provide safety instructions, and ensure the area is left clean and safe.


Qualifications:



  • No Experience, No Problem.

  • Positive attitude.

  • Willingness to learn.


Preferred Skills:



  • Previous experience in floor care and janitorial services, including familiarity with floor waxing, stripping, and buffing techniques.

  • Knowledge of floor cleaning methods and equipment, such as buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums, with the ability to operate them safely and efficiently.

  • Understanding of safety procedures and regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment in compliance with OSHA guidelines.

  • Experience with various floor types (e.g., carpet, tile, vinyl, hardwood) and the appropriate cleaning methods for each.

  • Ability to identify and address floor maintenance issues (e.g., stains, damage) and ensure high-quality results.

  • Certification or specialized training in floor care or janitorial services.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing consistently clean and well-maintained floors.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and within a team.


Physical& Environmental Demands:



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long periods while performing floor care tasks.

  • Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment (e.g., floor buffers, vacuums) and materials (e.g., cleaning solutions, floor mats), typically up to 50 pounds.

  • Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and repetitive motions when using cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers or buffers.

  • Ability to operate floor care machines and handle cleaning chemicals with precision and control.

  • Ability to work for extended periods, often on feet, while maintaining focus and energy.

  • Exposure to noise from floor care machines, such as buffers and vacuums.

  • Ability to work in different settings such as offices, warehouses, or healthcare facilities, with varying temperatures and lighting.

  • Ability to climb ladders or step stools to clean high areas and reach difficult spots on floors or walls.
