Procurement Intern

Utz is pleased to announce an opportunity for students to join the Procurement team as a Procurement Intern at our Hanover, PA office. Utz Procurement is responsible for the strategic sourcing and supplier management of third party company spending in areas such as Corporate Services, Commodities, Ingredients and Packaging. This role will work closely with several buyers and category leaders to effectively manage sourcing projects and materials supply assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department managers to clarify purchase requirements
• Identify plant consumption needs and trends and place orders to procure those materials.
• Determine the correct method to process purchasing depending on total cost, timeliness, competitive bidding, identify and select vendors and suppliers using criteria such as quality, price and delivery date.
• Make purchase decisions in accordance with company procedures and regulations.
• Process purchasing transactions according to local, state, and federal policies and procedures.
• Input data such as purchase orders and/or receiving into Utz system.
• Track and report on key metrics to reduce waste and improve procurement.
• Communicate pending tasks to suppliers and internal customers.
• Coordinate and monitor raw material inventories with Utz manufacturing, co-packers, and suppliers.

• Proven time management, priority setting & organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Suite, including Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
