Could you be the full-time hybrid Traction Software Development Engineer in West Mifflin, PA, US we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your advanced real-time software design expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside innovative, dedicated, and collaborative teammates. You'll contribute to the evolution of mobility by participating in the complete development cycle of embedded software for Traction converters. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (such as Traction Control and Validation Software Engineers), design application software for traction and auxiliary converters, and much more.

We'll look to you for:




  • Design application software for traction and auxiliary converters,



  • Work on both new contracts as well as support legacy systems,



  • Co-ordinate Software Design for Traction/Auxiliary system with Software and Control team for whole train and you are the one who support/lead during technical review or for training with the final customer,



  • Support the Traction Control Engineer for the functional requirement specification writing,



  • Write the software requirement specification according to the functional requirement specification,



  • Support the commissioning team and Traction/Auxiliary control teams,



  • Support the validation activities on test bench.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field,



  • Experience or understanding of real-time software design and standard application,



  • Knowledge of Embedded Software Systems in Robotics, Control, Traction, or Electrical Systems Software Engineering,



  • Ability to design application software for traction and auxiliary converters,



  • Proficiency in writing software requirement specifications and quality documentation,



  • Experience in supporting validation activities on test benches and commissioning teams,



  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time to support field issues.
