Job Description

The Manager of Software Quality Assurance position entails leading and managing the Quality Assurance team to ensure the quality and reliability of software products. The role involves developing and implementing testing strategies, overseeing the execution of test plans, and collaborating with development teams to identify and resolve issues. The manager will also be responsible for mentoring team members, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Strong leadership skills, extensive experience in software testing, and a deep understanding of Quality Assurance methodologies are essential for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.

  • Lead and manage the Quality Assurance team spanning across multiple enterprise applications.

  • Collaborate with IT leaders to deploy an automated testing mechanism

  • Lead and oversee the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) - including requirements analysis, test planning, test case development, environmental setup, test execution, and test cycle closure.

  • Develop and review test cases, scenarios, and plans based on the requirements of enhancements.

  • Supervise the execution of all test plans to ensure that newly developed software complies with requirements and is stable for production release.

  • Implement QA policies related toRegression, Functional, Performance, Usability, and User Acceptance testing based on documented requirements.

  • Ensure defects are documented and tracked efficiently, working closely with the Product Manager to address and retest issues.

  • Ensure thorough documentation of all test plans and outcomes in JIRA.

  • Provide guidance on troubleshooting software bugs and assist the team with user support tickets.

  • Oversee the creation of training documentation on new releases.

  • Stay updated with new testing strategies and best practices and implement them within the team.

  • Report on Quality Assurance metrics and project status to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Highly organized and great attention to detail

  • Proficiency inQuality Assurance methodologies, tools, and processes.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Xray).

  • Knowledge of programming languages and automated testing frameworks.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Intermediate experience writing SQL queries preferred

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or combination of industry certifications and equivalent related work experience of5years or more

  • At least two years of managerial experience leading Quality Assurance teams

Salary Range

Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate's knowledge, experience and skills.

$97,340.00 - $194,690.00
