Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of the set-up and operation of the welding equipment used in the production of high-quality welded parts. Monitors welding process and maintains accurate documentation to ensure product confirms to customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Verify job set-up to schedule
Verify equipment on hand to perform job function
Assist with job changeovers
Print required paperwork, set-ups and routings
Remove and tag scrap per company policy (parts and re-shear)
Tag Tracking System management
FIFO inventory - WIP and finished goods
Keep laser lines loaded with the proper WIP material
Move finished goods material to the proper location and stack as needed
Band/wrap (paper) pallets per customer requirements
Learn to run all laser lines as back-up operator
Inspect product as per instructions & routings
Verify process set-up in accordance to set-up sheets
Complete necessary record on documentation relating to inspection, TPM, job set-up and other required paperwork
Responsible for product quality
Supervisory Responsibilities
This person is not responsible for supervising others.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
1+ years of machine operation experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
Mechanical and electrical aptitude - preferred
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to operate mobile equipment (forklift)
Additional Competencies
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Must be able to understand basic math and have the ability to use a calculator and tape measure (metric / standard tolerancing)
Must be able to make good judgment decisions concerning parts, quality, etc.
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this job include walking, sitting, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, and climbing throughout the day. Lifting up to 30 lbs. is often required.
Work Environment
While performing this job, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. This includes safety glasses with side shields, gloves, hearing protection, and arm guards pulled up above the elbows.
Environment is a typical manufacturing facility where noise levels from stamping presses can be excessive. Regular exposure to the elements is expected, cold in the winter and heat in the summer.
