Maintenance Technician

Job Summary: The Maintenance employee is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment to ensure production needs are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with equipment.
• Identify malfunctions and diagnose problems for machine repair.
• Manufacture and repair parts as needed.
• Perform welding, brazing, plumbing, carpentry, and sheet metal work.
• Lead projects and train others in the department.
• Order parts and coordinate with outside contractors.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Carry out general building maintenance.
• Install new equipment.
• Assist with snow removal in winter months.
• Read, follow, and perform work instructions.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

• One-year certificate from a college or technical school.
• 2 to 5 years of maintenance experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Lift truck license required or must be able to obtain.
• Journeyman card in the maintenance trade preferred.
• High level of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repair, and installation skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of AC/DC electricity, basic hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Familiarity with standard maintenance equipment, tools, and welding equipment.
