SUMMARY

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing regulatory and compliance activities for US benefit programs, auditing benefits information in the benefits administration system, supporting the implementation of benefits program enhancements, and driving process improvement initiatives. The role serves as a day-to-day liaison to benefit carriers and oversees vendor support to ensure benefit plans are set up and functioning properly.This position also supports ongoing benefits administration of employee health, welfare, and retirement plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage weekly funding and reconciliation of the Company's 401(k) plan; serves as the liaison to PS&S team for retirement plan enrollments, plan changes, contribution amounts and corrections. Manage the annual 401(k) plan base contribution funding process.
  • Partner with HRIS Manager to ensure that HR systems properly store benefits data for reporting and provide updated system requirements to reflect benefit program changes and vendor changes as part of the annual enrollment process and ongoing qualifying events
  • Lead Leave of Absence (LOA) program management; manage LOA vendor relationship and serve as liaison escalations on administration and employee issues
  • Ensure that Company benefit plans are in compliance with federal, state, and local benefit laws and regulations; compile and maintain database on state leave laws
  • Lead annual enrollment process, including meeting and stakeholder preparation, establishing overall timeline and workstream deadlines and coordinating benefit materials and communications for employees
  • Manage the processing of monthly vendor invoices and support benefits accounting, including payment and allocation of benefit expenses
  • Develop training and communication materials to educate People Business Partners and managers on processes related to Electrolux benefit programs
  • Manage and update all benefit plan documents and policies and coordinate the distribution of regulatory requirements (SAR, funding notices, etc)
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts on benefits processes and identify opportunities that create employee engagement with benefits programs
  • Support benefits projects from approval through implementation and ensures complete data and file integration, testing, and communication development
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to employee benefits operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of four years combined experience in HR or Benefits, with at least two years of benefits administration for US or international organizations
  • HR or benefits specific certification (i.e. CEBS, PHR) preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal laws and regulations such as Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), state and local leave laws
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience creating and generating Excel spreadsheets (e.g., V-lookup, graphs, pivot tables, dashboards) and PowerPoint presentations
  • Exceptional customer service skills; ability to effectively interface with all levels of the organization and work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
