Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Junior Instrumentation Test Engineer whose primary responsibility is to work with Engineering and Operations in executing test stand development and conduct tests to procedures approved by the customer. This will include analyzing various matrices, installation, servicing & maintenance of sophisticated analytical instruments, and support with scheduling for High Pressure Testing.

Salary: $30- $45/hr DOE



Responsibilities

    Assist in setting up and operating pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies for space-related applications.
  • Follow blueprints and written/verbal instructions to assemble and test production hardware and subassemblies.
  • Support the Lead, Supervisor, or Manager with various tasks as directed.
  • Clean, assemble, and test valves and filters by following standard written procedures and other documentation.
  • Learn and interpret assembly setup instructions from written procedures to complete basic assembly tasks.
  • Assist in interpreting test system schematics and support test technicians with sub-assemblies.
  • Follow instructions to perform basic testing on components.
  • Help perform tests using gases like Nitrogen, Hydrogen, and Helium under varying temperature conditions.
  • Record test data accurately on appropriate forms and data sheets.
  • Report any issues or discrepancies observed during testing or assembly.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Support the maintenance of assembly and test setups.


Skills / Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience with LabView programming and troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of reading P&IDs and supporting Engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Basic understanding of fluid systems, tube manufacturing, and assembly techniques.
  • Willingness to learn problem-solving skills and contribute to root cause analysis.
  • Some hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting fluid components is a plus.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
