Emergency Department is a fast-paced, high acuity unit providing high-quality adult emergency care. Denver Health Emergency Department is one of the nation's leading Level I Trauma Centers, with one of the highest survival rates in the country for the most severe injuries. Our facility provides high-quality medical and trauma care where nurses will find their skill set is continually growing. Our ED consists of 57 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio is1:3-4, accommodating for critical patients. Additional support staff include emergency medical technicians (EMT), phlebotomists, EKG technicians, in-person interpreters and social workers.
Job Summary
The Inventory Control Coordinator position involves analytical work in managing, regulating, or controlling the level and flow of materials, supplies and equipment through acquisition, storage, issuance, utilization and disposal. Defines stock levels and frequency of reordering through normal acquisition channels, lead time, availability, storage space, frequency of use, and documentation requirements in order to provide installation support in buying, storing, and transferring supplies. Skilled at resolving inventory management problems, questions and situations in a supply operation. Interacts with peers, stakeholders and customers including leadership, engineering, and biomedical engineering to resolve any issues or discrepancies. Works closely with vendors to order medical equipment. Responds to order requests in a timely and professional manner. Responsible for maintaining, and general inventory of all equipment used in patient care areas. Performs in-house work requests. Completes daily rounds of hospital equipment rooms, ensuring all equipment is accounted for and operational. Position requires the ability to lift and move a variety of hospital equipment, perform general maintenance on this equipment, and keep the equipment rooms clean and organized.
Essential Functions:
- Performs routine inventory and tracking of all medical and non-medical equipment while maintaining functional supply room and storage spaces. (10%)
- Facilitates and manages purchase or repair requests from leadership and staff by submitting appropriate work orders or purchase requests in a timely fashion. (10%)
- Implements and executes strategies related to process changes, ensuring they occur across multiple departments. (10%)
- Repairs or trouble shoots all medical and non-medical equipment. If unable to repair on the floor, delivers equipment to Bio-Med/Engineering for repairs. (10%)
- Researches specialty product orders and obtains necessary quotes for budget purposes. Ensures all purchases are within budget for each department. (10%)
- Operates as liaison between units and equipment vendors for effective project management within multiple departments. (10%)
- Performs Environment of Care checks in patient rooms to ensure Joint Commission Standards are met, where applicable. (10%)
- Works with appropriate entities to ensure all medical equipment is up to date, in working condition, and supported by the vendors. (10%)
- Works closely with Doctors and Nurse Managers for new Capital Equipment requests. Obtains quotes, fills out the proper paper work for signatures and forwards to Finance for approval. (10%)
- Provides guidance and education to clinical staff on equipment and procedures. (10%)
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
- 4-6 years inventory experience Required
Licenses:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of all medical and non-medical equipment.
- Knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, and warehouse operations helpful but not required.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively relay information in the appropriate format.
- Ability to interact with the customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Must have a high attention to detail.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Working knowledge of Lawson preferred.

Salary $26.86 - $39.06 / hr
