About the Role:

The Principal Operational Capability role for the Gulf of Mexico region will initially focus on improving operational training content for Shenzi along with compliance verification and transition to a broader task of helping to develop, implement, and maintain a training and capability program with flexibility to be adopted to other operations in IO leveraging existing tools and processes where possible.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Engages Leaders across Operations, Engineering, and HSE to develop, maintain, and continuously improve training and capability building content.
  • Manages training matrices across GoM region striving for consist, yet fit-for-purpose training programs to enable Best-in-Class capability across all facets of operations, engineering and HSE
  • Manages tracking and compliance with leaders across operations, engineering, and HSE
  • Actively participates in industry working groups to ensure minimum regulatory compliance and industry recommendations are achieved through Woodside's International Operations training program and adopts best practices from other operators where applicable.
  • Drives operational excellence with support from line leaders through innovative and engaging training programs that adapt to changes in operations, infrastructure, systems, and processes

Skills & Experience:

  • Role models Woodside Values and leadership behaviors.
  • Ability to make decisions and improvements to increase effectiveness of the training and capability program
  • Can effectively engage leaders across Woodside to influence and achieve consistency in the program
  • Collates and reviews performance indicators associated with training compliance across GoM.
  • Can facilitate Training and Coaching for some content areas where in-house expertise is necessary and external capability is limited.
  • 10+ years of experience in oil and gas operations
  • Strong stakeholder management experience
  • Effective in adult learning techniques
  • Strong communications skills
  • Knowledge of Woodside Management Framework
  • Awareness of Woodside minimum training expectations

Qualifications



  • Professional training in Adult Learning preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years' of relevant experience in the energy industry
  • Experience and/or Technical Competencies in deepwater production/maintenance activities strongly preferred.
