Job Description Administrative Manager - Functions as the Manager for Administrative Operations in the Division of Hematology within the Department of Internal Medicine; directs and manages day-to-day operations of division including all fiscal, human resources, and administrative affairs, activities and functions; provides financial management and administration over multiple divisional budgets and funding sources including grants, endowments, release time, and contracts; plans, develops and prepares annual budgets and budget projections; serves as fiscal resource to division faculty; oversees and performs monthly reconciliation and analysis activities; creates, implements and oversees financial scorecards; analyzes, evaluates and compiles summary of clinical volumes; actively participates in the planning and establishment of financial strategic initiatives for cost savings for division; supervises and monitors day-to-day activities of 14 support and/or administrative staff; provides technical and administrative guidance and coordination to ensure support staff activities and workflow processes are handled in an efficient and timely manner; manages all recruitment and hiring of staff; hires and trains employees that provide faculty support services; administers and manages performance management activities; plans, assigns and monitors individual workloads and completion of work activities; ensures appropriate staffing levels; evaluates, identifies and makes recommendations for changes in staff numbers or structures; serves as liaison between faculty and clerical staff; manages and oversees capital assets; oversees space assignments, renovations and relocations. Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, health care administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education amp; experience required, considerable business experience in an administrative or management capacity required, preferably in an academic medical or higher education environment; knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices required; computer proficiency required with considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook required; reasonable knowledge of University policies, procedures, rules and regulations required. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen. |
