Vaco is hiring for a Controller opportunity in Salt Lake City UT. This is a direct hire position. Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee all financial and accounting activities for our company in Salt Lake City, Utah. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Develop and maintain internal control systems to ensure the accuracy of financial records. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP. Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial risk management strategies. Lead and mentor the accounting team to ensure efficiency and accuracy in financial processes. Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors and financial institutions. Drive process improvements and automation to enhance financial operations. Assist in financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
