Salary/Compensation Statement: |
- Hourly wage reflects an approximate annual salary of $44,658 - $65,492
- New employees may not be placed on the salary schedule higher than any current employee in this classification with the same or greater number of years' relevant experience.

- Lane Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Position Purpose: |
This position is responsible for Accounts Payable with regard to vendor payments, student financial aid, payroll, travel and other staff reimbursements. |
Essential Functions: |
- Adhere to college scal policies and procedures, including FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).
- Maintain adherence to federal, state, local and college laws, regulations and policies; ensure currency of knowledge and application.
- Analyze, reconcile and balance account details using established internal controls; review account documents and nancial transactions, and resolve related issues with the appropriate administrative staff or manager when necessary.
- Research and resolve problems pertaining to invoicing or payment, making independent professional decisions to provide resolution.
- Prepare and post journal entries to reconcile accounts and balances.
- Compile, analyze, and prepare reports of revenue and receivables and maintaining a high degree of condentiality.
- Perform invoicing, payment, and reporting activities according to specic deadlines.
- Monitor nancial transactions, disbursements, and general ledger accounts minimizing the fraud risk.
- Communicate with vendors and staff by telephone and email regarding vendor accounts and related issues.
- Data entry of invoices for payment, process check runs, troubleshoot any issues that impact disbursements of funds to students, vendors, and staff. Process any stop payments or reissues according to College's policies and guidelines.
- Keep all 1099 Vendor information current in Banner. Process all year-end clean-up to process 1099's.
- Must demonstrate an active concern for students and staff.
- Work with departments to help maintain a team-oriented environment.
- Exercise discretion in making judgment calls regarding vendor accounts.
- Reconcile College's PCard program, assist with best practices and manage the PCard program.
- Train new staff on all procedures and provide support during learning. Provide expertise and ongoing training support for existing staff.
- Assist with AP-related audit requests.
- Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain condentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs vendors, students and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands/Working Environment: |
This position works indoors and is exposed to usual oce working conditions that includes oce noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day. This position may work with individuals who may be hostile or abusive. Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-ve (25) pounds. Work Safely. |
Knowledge Skills and Abilities: |
Knowledge of and skill in:
- Automated nancial systems and generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles related to accounts payable, billing, collections and payroll.
- General oce procedures and practices.
- Prociency in MS Excel.
- Perform nancial analysis and reports, manage complicated spreadsheets, downloads and extracts.
Ability to:
- Use of spreadsheet, database, word processing software and automated accounting/invoicing systems and understand how automated nancial systems affect individual accounts and records. Reviewing large amounts of nancial data, preparing them for processing and communicating their impact to students, colleagues, and sponsors.

- Maintain and ensure condentiality of all nancial and personal information.

- Prepare correspondence and communication for payment purposes.
- Interpret and apply institutional and vendor rules, regulations and policies while making independent judgments that carry scal consequences for students and for the institution.
- Provide support to employees working to meet accreditation standards through evaluation and assessment of student outcomes.

Lane was founded in 1964 by a vote of local citizens, and the main campus opened in 1968. The college was a successor to the Eugene Technical-Vocational School that was founded in 1938. Lane has received many awards and accolades for its innovative programs and high quality instruction. The college is a member of the League for Innovation in the Community College.
