The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with managing the performance of services to clients as per agreed contract and ensure that service levels are achieved.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists the Project Manager with the management of project development from beginning to end.
  • Assists in effectively planning and controlling assigned project by monitoring progress, managing procurement, and recording production and job costs.
  • Assists with cost control and schedules support to the Project Manager and management teams which include but is not limited to critical path analysis, forecasting revenue, profitability margins, bill rates, utilization, cost reporting, PO and change order tracking, budget comparison, forecasting percentage complete, and earned value.
  • Assists Project Manager in the development of Project Execution Plans, resource-loaded schedules, and budget.
  • Serves as a liaison with the client to ensure project requirements are met and all customer communications are documented.
  • Reviews all associated contracts, specifications, drawings, scope of work, estimates, subcontractor requirements, and other pertinent information.
  • Troubleshoots day-to-day project issues as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Maintains control systems which measure progress/performance, provides early warning of deviations from the Plan, and identifies corrective actions to be taken.
  • Collaborates with the Safety Director regarding EHS programs, procedures, and incidents; ensures compliance with OHS laws and regulations.
  • Compiles data and manages, maintains, and approves project invoicing process on a timely basis.
  • Analyzes financial information and recognizes significant variance, trends, and irregularities, understands causes/drivers and communicates timely to the Project Manager.
  • Compiles information and data for historical statistical databases.
  • Other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil/mechanical engineering or related field required.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with project management principles and practices.
  • Experience working with project schedules and budgets preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be willing to travel throughout Wisconsin, with occasional travel within the US for storm work.
