The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space-enabled mission effects.

As part of the Enterprise Design Subdivision (EDS), the Portfolio Analysis Department (PAD) drives responsive and comprehensive trades in customer portfolios. Working closely with corporate program offices PAD delivers portfolio decision insights that expand options for senior leaders and accelerates delivery of end effects. PAD integrates expertise, system analysis and design capabilities from across the corporation. We are looking for an Enterprise Systems Engineer (Senior Engineering Specialist - Enterprise Systems Engineering).

This position will reside in the Aerospace engineering backplane and will be assigned to the Aerospace program office supporting the Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO). The SSIO is charged with conducting enterprise integration and strategic analyses to ensure the USSF along with mission partners are able to deliver critical end-to-end effects at scale and resilient to adversary threats. SSIO coordinates across acquisition offices (e.g., SSC, SDA and SpaceRCO), operators, combatant commands, Space Futures Command, and the intelligence community to identify and address risks, issues, gaps, and opportunities across the space enterprise.

Work Model:

This position is full time 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as senior technical authority, consultant, primary investigator, or team leader. May lead or organize interfaces between customers' and Aerospace technical and management staff. Coordinates large-scale technical efforts across program/project lines. Mentors less experienced MTS and serves as role model.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Establish a process to prioritize SSC and USSF inputs to the POM process

  • Provide technical expertise, develop methods, and conduct analyses enabling SSIO to ensure key risks, issues, gaps, and opportunities are identified and used to prioritize budget requests

  • Coordinate across stakeholders (acquisition offices (e.g., SSC, SDA and SpaceRCO), operators, combatant commands, Space Futures Command, and the intelligence community) to ensure priorities are comprehensive and understood

  • Lead cross-function / cross-organizational teams to develop space enterprise baselines including requirements, architecture, and performance

  • Reach across the Aerospace Engineering Backplane to obtain required expertise

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for Senior Engineering Specialist:

  • Current TS/SCI clearance with eligibility SAP

  • Degree in science, mathematics, or engineering from an accredited university

  • 12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or program management environments

  • Demonstrated leadership of broad multidisciplinary teams conducting technical evaluations of complex systems; cost, schedule and risk analysis; portfolio-level trade studies; and requirements development

  • Knowledge of systems-of-systems (SoS) engineering, portfolio management, and model- based system engineering (MBSE)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

HOW YOU CAN STAND OUT

  • Prior experience working with USSF, other DoD, or intelligence community organizations involved with acquisition of space programs

  • Advanced degree in science, mathematics, or engineering from an accredited university

  • Extensive knowledge in formal DoD Acquisition processes and procedures

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
