Position Description The HID Application and Validation Specialist is responsible for enhancing customer satisfaction and building customer relationships while advancing the adoption of proprietary/advanced technology products and services in the defined area of Human Identity (HID) & Forensics. The HID Application and Validation Specialist must have four or more years of relevant experience within a forensic DNA environment and hold an advanced degree in a relevant field. The successful applicant must have a strong knowledge of QIAGEN products and the Forensics workflow from sample collection to profile analysis, with a high knowledge of NGS library preparation, sequencer operation and data analysis workflows. The successful candidate must have previous experience of performing instrument and assay validation to FBI QAS and/or SWGDAM guidelines together with knowledge of ISO17025. They must be comfortable working both alone and as part of a team, be experienced in project work and working with customers at all levels. Essential Skills - Detailed knowledge of NGS methodology, preferably with Verogen assays, covering library preparation, sequencer operation and data analysis. - Knowledge of validation to ISO 17025 standard and knowledge of North American QAS policies. - Knowledge of HID applications of NGS technology. Desirable Skills - Knowledge of Probabilistic Genotyping. Sales revenues / budgets - Meet or exceed sales targets for assigned QIAGEN products/services and assigned business objectives through support of the HID Sales Specialists and representatives, and develop tactical plans to maximize product adoption. Perform validation services to enhance adoption of QIAGEN technologies. Strategy - Implementation of corporate strategy in defined key accounts. Customer Focus - Through consultative selling by way of product demonstrations and technical consultancy, enhance customer satisfaction and increase our competitive advantage while building trust and relationships with customers. Maintain and develop strong relationships with key customers and references. Business / Markets - Conduct seminars/exhibitions and increase number of strategic partnerships within market. Communicate market information through business teams, CRM market feedback, and/or other approved channels. Manage Resources - Involve and support team members to achieve mutual company goals and objectives. Daily use of CRM database for input and output of customer information to increase sales effectiveness. Utilize appropriate communication channels to ensure effective communication across business units. Decision Making - Makes sounds business decisions based on relevant information, take calculated risks as necessary to achieve business objectives. - Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while under guidance from manager. - Ability to work in teams. - Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills for all business levels. - Fluent in English with second language preferable. Position Requirements - Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent. - 4+ years of relevant business / market / product experience. - 4+ years of relevant lab experience within a forensic DNA environment. - Understanding and experience of NGS technologies, preferably Verogen/QIAGEN assays & MiSeq FGx sequencer. - Experience in validation of purification, assay and NGS technologies on manual and automated methods to FBI QAS/SWGDAM guidelines and ISO17025 standard. - Technical expertise in defined specialist market with broad knowledge of QIAGEN products. Demonstrated ability to: - Sell against competitors in assigned marketplace. - Drive adoption of new technologies through key opinion leaders, seminars, national conferences, references and other as applicable. - Considered globally as a key knowledge holder for specific markets or applications including: - Proprietary technologies, Consortiums, Industry standards and/or Regulatory guidelines. - Differentiating features and benefits of competitors products. -Networks of key opinion leaders in defined area. - Contributes to Sales and Marketing product development including: - Technology and market assessment of portfolio gaps. - Provide market feedback and market analysis for new concepts and products. - Develop sales materials to drive business objectives. - Disseminate acquired knowledge, product information and services across the sales organization. - Proven experience in project management and complex sales. Personal Requirements - Ideal location - Southeast region - All USA locations possible. - Home Based. - 80% of time spent in the field, driving license required. - The role will primarily function within South East of USA (LS, MS, TN, AL, NC, SC, VA, GA & FL) but will require travel through-out the entire of North America as the business needs dictate .
