We're hiring a TES Dispensing Pharmacist in Montgomery. In this role, you'll be responsible for accurately filling and labeling prescriptions, maintaining inventory, tracking controlled substances, and overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy.

Temporary Employment Services ( TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:

  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
  • Assistance with special projects
  • Seasonal work
  • Emergencies

Essential Functions
What You'll Do in This Role:


  • Ensure Accuracy & Safety - Review, verify, and fill prescriptions while overseeing those prepared by technicians and students to ensure precision and compliance.

  • Monitor Controlled Substances - Track and regulate controlled medications, including those dispensed through vending machines, to ensure prescriptions are valid and properly managed.

  • Educate & Support - Provide clear and helpful information on pharmacy procedures to students, staff, and patients as needed.

  • Maintain Records - Keep detailed and accurate documentation of drug usage to support compliance and operational efficiency.

  • Patient Care & Guidance - Answer questions, counsel patients on proper medication use, and provide expert advice on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
  • Must be licensed as a pharmacist or eligible for licensure in the state of Alabama.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State guidelines and laws related to the management, storage, and dispensing of prescription medications.
