PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products. The Pemex Deer Park Laboratory analyzes feedstocks, intermediates, and finished products 24/7. As the Lab Tester, you will provide key results regarding production unit reliability, process safety, and quality products. Success in this role revolves around working safely, teamwork, testing skills, working efficiency, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

To thrive as a Lab Tester, you should have:        

• Associate’s degree or higher in Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in an industrial or research laboratory setting.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments such as Gas Chromatography, D-86 Distillation units, RVP analyzers, and Sulfur analyzers (XRF and chemiluminescence).
• Understanding Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and quality management principles in a laboratory environment.
• Experience handling, preparing, and analyzing refinery streams, from crude oil to finished products.

Your responsibilities as the Lab Tester will include:        

·        Observes and conducts all work safely and within safety protocols/written procedures.

·        Conducts daily routine testing of refinery products, feedstocks, and intermediates stream samples using octane engines, gas chromatography, titrators, sulfur by x-ray fluorescence and chemiluminescence methods, FTNIR, D-86 distillation units, RVP analyzers, densitometers, and other chemical and physical property testing.

·        Conducts routine Statistical Quality Control testing and assurance activities.
