Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Associate/Engineer with expertise in Industrial, Commercial, or Utility Commissioning to join its team of engineers for our Thermal Sciences practices in Warrenville, IL.



You will be responsible for

  • Performing outstanding technical work for clients
  • Effectively managing client expectations
  • Evaluating the commissioning process and procedures of various facilities worldwide
  • Effectively managing multidisciplinary and international project teams
  • Conducting fieldwork and visiting client sites
  • Preparing written reports, proposals and presentations
  • Assisting with project management
  • Continued activity within their field of expertise as demonstrated through continued publication and presentation at technical conferences

Near-term career development and growth will include responsibility for developing client relationships, as well as participate in generating project opportunities and revenue through active marketing and attendance at local and international conferences.



You will have the following skills and qualifications

  • Advanced degree (e.g. Ph.D., M.Eng., M.S., or equivalent) with at least one degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace/Aeronautical, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience in the areas of large scale Industrial, Commercial, or Utility commissioning.
  • Onsite experience overseeing or participating in the commissioning process of various types of equipment and systems is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with overseeing or participating in industrial start-ups, shutdowns and performances tests
  • Extensive understanding of API, ASME, NFPA, and ASTM standards and OSHA regulations/requirements
  • Professional Engineering License (or equivalent) preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Highly self-motivated as demonstrated through presentation at technical conferences, publication in peer reviewed journals, professional certifications and engineering licensure, and extra-curricular activities
  • Intellectual curiosity with a passion to explore a vast array of problems and applications both within and outside of their area of specialization
  • Strong deductive reasoning skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment
  • Ability to gather information from and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, the legal profession, business and industry
  • Domestic and international travel will likely be required

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.



Salary Range

USD $140,400.00 - USD $171,600.00 /Yr.
