PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Entry Level Opportunity!

Night Shift 11p-7a

Come grow with us! We are looking for an entry level Production Supervisor to join our Clarke Fire Sharonville location! Candidate will be responsible for running the production of our nightshift Union crew! Clarke Fire is recognized worldwide as a leading manufacturer of diesel fire pump engines.

What are the duties?
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments. Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Establishes and enforces organization standards.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, implementing change. Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.


Skills and/or Experience


  • Experience in a leadership position, such as group leader, demonstrates leadership abilities and may improve opportunities.
  • A general knowledge of sound business and management principles strategies is also helpful.
  • College degree is preferred such as a 2-year associate's degree or 4-year bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, manufacturing, engineering, economics or a related field of study. A combination of vocational training and work experience instead of a formal college education is acceptable.


PHYSICAL and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS


  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit.
  • The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The associate must be able to professionally communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.
