We are currently looking for an Expeditor to join our growing team!

JOB SUMMARY

Primary interface for lab requests requiring Customer assistance. Works with CSR & Commercial Team to ensure requests are responded to in a timely manner. Responsible for monitoring and expediting requests for the lab. Ensuring they are completed in accordance with the urgency level indicated. Management of the Sample Hold Process to ensure that lab samples that have been placed on hold are properly addressed and resolving sample issues that prevent proper processing. Management of TAT reports, responding to client emails related to TAT, ETA, COA change requests, special projects to assist lab with process enhancements to improve customer responsiveness, support corporate quality, etc.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist lab w/ ensuring samples are consistently run according to deadline
  • Fill tubes and bottles with specified solutions and apply identification labels
  • Arrange specimens and samples on trays to be placed in incubators and refrigerators
  • Deliver supplies and laboratory specimens to designated work areas
  • Maintain inventory reports and logs
  • Prepare and maintain bacteriological media and chemical solutions, utilizing proper labeling, handling, storage, use, and disposal of solutions, including autoclaved and hazardous waste
  • Weigh samples and record values on logs
  • Assisting with managing priorities and schedule such that individual goals as well as team goals are achieved with encouraged participation in the Food Safety Net Services Team
  • Responsible for the completion of required training

SUPERVISION

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • or one to three months related experience and/or training;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other communications/computer components
  • Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens
  • Noise level varies from quiet to loud
  • Temperature varies from hot to cold
  • Interactive and fast-paced team oriented tasks
  • Overnight Travel is required at the discretion of management
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
