* Salary: $44,000 - $45,000

Job Functions: The Residential Housing Case Manager provides intensive housing support and services to families that participate in Tampa emergency shelter program.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Case Management services to Emergency shelter families, developing individualized housing goals to assist families in attaining housing stability.
  2. Participate in weekly staff and group meetings. Organize and lead meetings relative to client housing updates.
  3. Utilize HMIS systems to maintain client case notes, history, and data, utilizing best practices to keep client information confidential according to the Code of Ethics.
  4. Provide access to housing resources and funding streams to help families achieve and maintain housing stability. Works with family support team to assist clients moving into community housing.
  5. Perform housing assessments for all incoming clients to determine goals and achieve them through services and resources available to meet client needs. Refer clients to appropriate services based on their needs.
  6. Maintain professional boundaries.
  7. Organize and participate in team conference meetings to ensure seamless transitions for residents going into housing programs.
  8. Develop and implement group learning opportunities for families related to housing.
  9. Update and maintain all residential housing materials and forms. Ensure housing materials are stored in department shared folders.
  10. Cultivate relationships with landlord and utility providers. Act as a liaison between residential clients and landlords. Conduct on campus events to cultivate more partnerships with local housing programs and leasing agencies.
  11. Monitor monthly housing outcomes and develops processes to meet all grant requirements.
  12. Provide guidance and training to Interns ensuring that proper case management guidelines are being followed. Provide weekly tasks to interns which includes completion of a housing assessments for all incoming families
  13. Collaborate with community partners, service providers, and institutions beneficial to the goal of stable community housing.
  14. Participate in Metropolitan Ministries' holiday efforts. Participate in Bridge Builders and other fund raising events when needed.
  15. Support the team in other tasks as assigned and attend all team meetings. Meet personal goals and actively contribute to the achievement of the team and organizational targets/goals as stated in Key Performance Indicators and in the annual plan.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Human Services field required; Master's degree preferred. 3-5 years of Case Management experience.

Skill Requirements:

Requires heart for ministry. Requires understanding of poverty, a high degree of maturity, strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work with low socio-economic and diverse populations facing crisis situations in a professional and diplomatic manner. Ability to deescalate clients on the edge of verbal or physical violence. Ability to work as part of a team within a multi-disciplinary framework. Demonstrates computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Requires oral and written communication skills and the ability to write reports and conduct and participate in meetings.

Physical Requirements:

Must have adequate hearing and speaking ability as to take part in and provide sound oral communication and information. Must be capable of working outdoors in sunlight and higher temperatures on occasion. Must have the physical, emotional, and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress.

Other:

Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must pass required background pre-employment screening. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Requires a valid driver's license, a clean driving record and the ability to qualify for the Ministries' driving program.
