Cloud Network Engineer

Key Role:

Analyze and solve complex issues by collaborating and building relationships across all levels of the organization, including management, business or functional units, and other internal and external technical teams. Create technical roadmaps, project plans, requirements, designs, and implementation plans for AWS and Google solutions and other commercial tools required for interoperability. Leverage technical expertise, knowledge of IT security compliance policies, and expertise in administering virtual and Cloud computing solutions to advise and educate technical and non-technical members of the client's organization, and assist with achieving the firm's objectives. Provide client teams technical engineering and administration support in the development of project deliverables. Conduct research on emerging technologies and industry trends independently for impact and applicability to new and existing processes, tools, and technologies. Work closely with clients, leadership, and vendors in formal and informal environments to gain approvals, overcome obstacles, and reach consensus in the furtherance of the firm's Cloud security strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering and Cloud services
  • Experience building, delivering, and managing Cloud services in AWS and Azure
  • Experience with AWS or Azure, DevOps, software development, and system integration, including the underlying protocols and standards used in the operation of those technologies
  • Experience migrating, architecting, building, and deploying systems and applications to a public Cloud
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, security, reliability, and scalability, as applied to enterprise-scale Cloud hosted systems
  • Ability to explain complex concepts to a wide variety of individuals with various levels of technical expertise with a proven track record in continuous improvement for technology solutions and process
  • DHS Suitability
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Cloud hosting environments, including AWS and Azure across a broad range of services such as EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, or CloudTrail
  • Experience with Checkpoint FWs and VPNs, including Cisco Network devices, SolarWinds, F5, AD, DNS, NTP, SMTP, Python, and PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with a breadth of technologies across operating systems, application servers, and database and middleware infrastructure, including Linux and Windows environments
  • Knowledge of federal IT and Cloud security policies, including FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and DoD Cloud SRG, and applying them to Cloud security architectures
  • Knowledge of intrusion detection, encryption, monitoring, and vulnerability scanning, including authentication solutions for traditional and Cloud-hosted IT systems
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • AWS or Azure Certification, including Associate, Professional, Architecture, or CCNA Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,100.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
