Overview SRI's Biosciences Division (BSD) develops transformative approaches and platforms for challenging therapeutic problems. We conduct basic and translational research, have the breadth - and depth - to deliver the latest in biomedical research through technology development. SRI Biosciences projects range from high-impact, early-stage research to drug co-development with pharmaceutical and biotech companies. BSD's Center for Health Sciences is looking for Summer Interns to work on various projects. We are looking for a student to join our team of sleep experts, psychologists, and data scientists in the SRI Sleep lab. The main project will be the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study. The NIH-sponsored ABCD Study is a multi-site nationwide study following 10,000 children for 10 years. It is the largest study to date to examine factors (e.g., sleep, physical activity, stress, trauma, substance use) that influence child and adolescent neurodevelopment. Summer Interns working on projects in the lab will get experience with clinical interviews, neuropsychological and cognitive testing, collecting bioassays (e.g., hormone levels, DNA samples), and multi-modal MRI scans. The Summer Intern will work on-site at our Menlo Park, CA office. The hours are estimated to be between 20-35 per week and will require working some evenings and/or weekends, depending on scheduling of participants. Currently enrolled in a degree program (Bachelors, Masters or PhD) such as psychology, neuroscience, or a related field.
The salary range is: $17-$34/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
