ECMO Coordinator at MGH
Summary Responsible for assisting with the ECMO program within the organization, ensuring the highest standards of care for patients requiring ECMO support. This role helps lead the ECMO team, providing advanced clinical expertise and promoting best practices in ECMO therapy. Provide advanced clinical support for patients requiring ECMO therapy, including assessment, management, and troubleshooting of ECMO systems and patient conditions. -Develop, implement, and evaluate ECMO protocols and guidelines to ensure evidence-based practices are followed in patient care. -Conduct training and education sessions for ECMO team members and other healthcare staff on ECMO procedures, equipment, and patient management. -Participate in patient rounds, providing clinical insights and recommendations to the interdisciplinary team regarding ECMO management and patient care. -Monitor patient outcomes and quality metrics related to ECMO therapy, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed. -Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for patients on ECMO support.
