Job Summary
The Division of General Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) seeks a full-time bilingual (English and Spanish) clinical research coordinator to work on research studies that focus on improving food security, nutrition, and cardiometabolic health. This research spans several projects, such as an evaluation of a Medicaid program to provide food and housing resources for low-income patients, an intervention using behavioral economics strategies to implement an evidence-based nutrition ranking system within a large Boston-based food bank and affiliated food pantries, and a community health worker-delivered nutrition intervention for adults with poorly controlled hypertension. The clinical research coordinator (CRC) will be an integral part of the study team, working in close collaboration with other research coordinators and staff, including physicians, health policy researchers, epidemiologists, and dietitians. The CRC will engage in study management and logistics, recruitment, enrollment, and data collection by phone or in the community at food pantries. The CRC will work directly under the supervision of the Principal Investigators. This position is an excellent opportunity for those interested in gaining clinical and research experience related to health care, public health, social determinants of health, nutrition, health behaviors, and implementation science. Responsibilities *Direct interaction with study participants (health center patients, food pantry staff and clients), including serving as primary contact for study participants, tracking subjects throughout the study, and facilitating data collection. *Conducting interviews and surveys by phone or in person. *Coordinating study logistics *Entering data into the study databases and working with other research coordinators and the data manager to organize and streamline the data collection process. *Coding qualitative interview data. *Submitting applications to the Institutional Review Board in collaboration with the other Clinical Research Coordinator and under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. *Assisting with data cleaning and management. *Participating in study-related meetings *Conducting occasional literature reviews *Assisting with abstract and manuscript preparation.
