FTE 0Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours 0Work Shift All Shifts: 8 hoursJob Description The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs accurate, reliable, and timely laboratory waived and moderately complex testing that provides laboratory information to physicians and other healthcare professionals for the diagnosis and treatment of their patients. The MLT follows the Laboratory's written policies and procedures in order to safely perform testing, and provide accurate and timely test results under the supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. In addition the MLT may perform quality control, instrument maintenance and calibrations, and method validations and troubleshooting of moderately complex test procedures. The MLT cannot perform any high complexity testing including interpretive testing and microscopy in the Transfusion Service or Microbiology sections.QualificationsAssociates degree in a laboratory science. Previous work experience in a hospital laboratory environment preferred. Computer proficiency. Knowledge of medical terminology. Communicate clearly verbally and in writing in English. Must be available to work weekends and holiday on a rotational basis. License/Certification/Registration RequirementsValid California license for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
