Job Overview

The Manager, Credit Portfolio Analysis and Benchmarking supports the Credit management team, acquiring industry information, developing models and analyzing data, benchmarking, and presenting results related to the organization's credit portfolio. This role includes support for the benchmarking and alignment of credit card and customer loyalty programs with publicly available macroeconomic and competitor KPIs. The manager applies a strong analytical background, expertise in the use of appropriate tools, and maintains a customer-centric mindset to drive business insights, strategic growth initiatives, and marketing activities in a fast-paced retail environment.

What You Will Do

Credit Portfolio Benchmarking



  • Track and analyze economic data produced by governmental and industry sources for both macroeconomic and credit card specific KPIs.
  • Track and analyze results from card issuers, merchants card portfolios, and other industry participants. Benchmark the results against Macy's credit portfolio and related loyalty program features
  • Create proformas and postmortem result analysis.
  • Work with finance, risk management, and data analytics teams to retrieve necessary data from Macy's systems as well as other systems and sources.
  • Oversee, track, and lead growth related projects
  • Track and report on past, current, and future credit and loyalty related growth projects and strategies.
  • Develop high quality presentations that accurately communicate insights and results to executive management.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, customer service, and finance, to drive continuous improvements and growth.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of current policies and processes, providing recommendations for improvements as needed. Benchmark against industry KPI.


Skills You Will Need

Analytical Expertise: Advanced quantitative skills with proficiency in tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Excel.

Presentation Expertise: Advanced skills with presentation creation using tools like PowerPoint, photoshop, and others.

Credit Portfolio: Understanding of credit products, risk principles, and the consumer lending industry.

Communication: Exceptional skills in presenting insights and actionable recommendations to stakeholders.

Strategic Vision: Ability to align credit and loyalty strategies with broader organizational objectives.

Project Management: Ability to track, monitor, and report on multiple projects with the objective of ensuring on-time and on-budget results.

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • 5+ years of experience in credit portfolio management, financial reporting, or loyalty program analytics, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
