Position Summary:

Guide and assist respective business unit in the achievement of their individual safety and environmental goals, objectives and targets.

Primary Position Responsibilities:




  • Examine the work environment for various physical, chemical, biological and environmental hazards/stresses.



  • Define corrective actions that reduce stresses that impair health and ability of worker efficiency





  • Evaluation of areas for hazards and make recommendations for improvement or protective equipment requirements.



  • Assist in interpretation of OSHA standards/regulations and maintains cooperative relationship with OSHA.



  • Assist in developing & conduct health and safety training courses for supervisors and employees as needed.



  • Assist with technical expertise to the business unit regarding day-to-day process operations, process changes and /or relocations, new processes, new products, new technology, new facilities and/or equipment and interaction with contract personnel.



  • Implement necessary controls to ensure compliance with current safety and environmental regulations





  • Maintains the business unit's Safety and Environmental Policy documents and introduces new ones as changes dictate.



  • Conduct safety and environmental compliance audits and regulatory applicability reviews.





Position Requirements:

Education: Pursing a bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety or related field

Experience:

0 Years Safety or Environmental Experience

Skills / Certifications:

Able to work well in a team environment, detail oriented, and strong computer skills. An understanding of key programs as they relate to Federal and State requirements (Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), Material Handling, Lost Time Injuries (LTI) and Total Recordable Injuries (TRI)

Preferred:

Excellent communication, people skills, and working knowledge of safety, environmental key programs
