GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Implementation and Adoption Specialist is responsible for participating in implementation, testing, training, documentation and support of clinical and business electronic health record systems. Under the direction of leadership personnel, they work with customers to adopt and utilize IT applications in an efficient manner.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Work with diverse groups to fully utilize clinical/business applications and corresponding reporting systems within the ambulatory setting.
  • Provide at the elbow support for system software.
  • Teach end users both individually and in a classroom setting.
  • Coordinate with both internal and external resources for timely problem resolution.
  • Update and maintain documentation related to educational curriculum, workflow best practices, and data standardization.
  • Participates on an on-call rotation that extends to off-shift hours.
  • Build skills with clinical/business applications.
  • Assists in implementations to include current/future workflow assessment, collection of data and provision of go-live support.
  • Understands and adheres to Henry Ford Health's compliance standards as they appear in Henry Ford's Corporate Compliance Plan, Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest Policy and any policies or procedures that pertain to specific job duties or departmental operations.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Henry Ford regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Ensures that all staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Associate degree or 2 years of college experience, OR more than 4 years of experience in a physician practice, clinical setting or medical billing environment may be considered in lieu of college.
  • One (1) year of professional experience in Information Technology, or in a medical office setting, or medical billing required.


CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Credentialing in Epic is required within six months of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
