Forklift Operator - Material Handler

Overview

With a small plant environment utilizing a small team, working four (4) 10 hour shifts weekly; This position consists of a variety of different responsibilities, including Fork truck operation, material handling supporting production, and occasional machine operation (If needed due to absentee/vacation/customer scheduling).

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Material Handler support to Production (Daily):

• Restocking of empty bags to filling operators
• Removal of full part containers/totes or pallets from work cells
• Obtain and position empty totes to work cells.
• Palletizing boxes of product, wrapping and labeling of full pallets, date stamping and applying product labels to the boxes/containers/totes.

Forklift Operator:

• Load and unload trucks
• Maintain warehouse in an organized manner.
• Pull and stage containers for shipments.
• Stage full and empty containers as directed.

Production Operator (As Needed):

• Operate Silentex bag filling machine - due to increased customer schedules or regular operator absenteeism.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* High School Diploma.

* Minimum five (5) years' work history.

* Prior work in a fast-paced automotive environment.

* Successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

* Adaptive (quick) learner.

* Must be able to perform basic math skills. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

* Have reliable transportation and a valid driver license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

* Past Forklift operation, or must be willing to learn and become a licensed forklift operator.

* Knowledge of machine operation and function.

* Working knowledge and ability to use small hand tools.

* Candidate must have strong work ethic as well as self-directed with limited supervision.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5:30am-4:30pm (4x10 hr shifts)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)
