The Customer Insights & Analytics Manager - Walmart (Mass, Club & International) will drive customer sales, strategy and innovation at Jel Sert through shopper, category, brand and consumer insights across key retailers (Walmart, Sam's, Costco, Target & International).This customer-facing role will work closely with team Sales Managers in the execution of the holistic strategy. Primary responsibility will be to use syndicated and customer data tools to provide insights and recommendations on assortment, space, promotions, display, segmentation/flow.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Customer Level Insights



  • Provide customer-specific category insights, effectively visualizing data for easy consumption.
  • Analyze customer and market data to provide strategic assortment and merchandising recommendations based on internal and external insights.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal HQ Category, Sales Planning and Marketing on new item development and selling stories based on customer-level category insights.
  • Conduct competitive & Jel Sert analysis on new items and promotional performance across the category.
  • Unearth customer specific macro insights & adjacent category trends.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with our retail partners and be viewed as a trusted resource for category and shopper insights and objective growth opportunities.
  • Lead development of data driven sales presentations.
  • Advise on category and shopper-centric opportunities to grow market share.
  • Develop category strategies to assist teammates and the customer with integrated category development.
  • Track and analyze category, brand, and item performance
  • Make recommendations for optimal customer product mix.
  • Use syndicated and customer data to evaluate business trends.
  • Utilize/overlay demographic, psychographic and media consumption shopper insights to bolster prospective innovation and customer/consumer trend analysis.



Strategic Planning



  • Partner with the sales team and customer on evolving category vision.
  • Responsible for developing customer-specific presentations with relevant consumer insights, competitive responses, and new item/category selling strategies.
  • Set internal strategy for category development at key customers and specific share growth plans internally.
  • Maintain reporting as well as current trends and gaps for both Customer and internal stakeholders.
  • Inform the customer of trends regarding our business, competitive categories and viral movements across the marketplace.
  • Work with the customer to implement actionable change.



Annual Plans Development & Implementation



  • Actively lead and participate in preparation of line reviews and reoccurring customer connects, JBP meetings, and T2T meetings.
  • Actively participate in internal business reviews and annual plan development.



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE



  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant Sales, Category Management or Research experience within the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry required.
  • Additionally, 5 years of proficiency with Nielsen/Circana/IRI Scandata is required.
  • Food and/or beverage experience is desirable.
  • Direct Sales/Broker Management experience is highly recommended.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field is a plus.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



  • Strong analytical skills to ensure integrity of data.
  • Experienced with developing sales presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills - oral and written.
  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experienced with Retail Link and Luminate.
  • Proficient in Data analytics and with syndicated data systems (Nielsen/Circana/IRI Scandata)
  • Experience with Shopper Data systems (Numerator and Stratum).
  • Expert with reporting tools, Excel, PowerPoint and reporting analytics.
  • Financial impact analysis / ROI reporting.
  • Independent, self-driven individual with the ability to build vs. manage.
  • Creative & curious with a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Travel requirements: Must be willing to travel up to 20% (HQ Meetings, Annual Planning, Market Visits and other cross-functional project meetings as needed)


BONUS & SALARY

The minimum compensation for the Customer Insights & Analytics Manager - Walmart (Mass, Club & International) is $115,000 annually. This position is also eligible for the Sales Bonus program. The Jel Sert Company is committed to pay transparency and will provide further compensation information during the interview process. Compensation is determined by a candidate's experience, education, skills, training, and the internal equity within our organization. Actual compensation to be paid will be determined upon an offer.
