About the Job

Position Overview:
The Division of Neurology at the University of Minnesota (UMN) is seeking a board-certified neurologist that is United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties; Neuro-oncology (UCNS-NO) board-certified/ eligible.

The neuro-oncology candidate would need to appreciate the value of academic medicine and view their career as a joint clinical and academic/ research endeavor. As such, they must be eager to become involved in a patient-centered, multi-disciplinary brain cancer care team as well as becoming a member of the UMN Brain Tumor Program in which there is close collaboration with established institutional basic/ fundamental and translational scientists.

Position Highlights:
* Assume a key leadership role in the development, implementation, and supervision of innovative research projects and clinical trials in the treatment of brain cancer.
* Opportunity to lead and collaborate with research team members involved in support of critical research goals.
* Lead in the development of a multi-disciplinary metastatic brain cancer clinic.
* Provide outpatient only clinical care of neuro-oncology patients as well as instructing of medical students and post-graduate trainees.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
* Graduate of an accredited ACGME Neurology residency and United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties Neuro-oncology accredited fellowship-training program.
* Board eligible/certified with UCNS-NO Board.
* Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired, and begins at $55,000. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
