Director of Business Development - Locum Tenens

We are looking for a detail-oriented Director of Business Development to join our Locum Tenens team.

Director of Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Establish sales and account management initiatives and identify key areas of improvement for both the Locum Tenens Sales Team and the Locum Tenens Account Management Team to increase production on each side.
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the Locum Tenens/ Physician division, providing comprehensive strategy and information regarding new or updated contracts.
  • Lead meetings with both the Locum Tenens Sales Team and Locum Tenens Account Managers to develop skills, discuss market trends, and review the client openings.
  • Cold-calling and emailing potential leads and attending networking events to gain new business.
  • Communicating with all levels of stakeholders within facilities and healthcare organizations to identify staffing needs and solutions.
  • Attending conferences, site visits, and trade shows, as needed.
  • Lead, develop, and manage high-performing Account Management and Sales teams to drive growth, ensuring timely execution of Business Development processes that strengthen client relationships and support the company's commitment to excellence.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and conduct ongoing market research to proactively address healthcare staffing needs, identify key influencers, and understand competitive dynamics.
  • Exhibit expertise in complex, consultative sales, working with multiple decision-makers and stakeholders to achieve business success, while leveraging solution-selling skills to build strong client relationships at all levels.
  • Oversee and mentor the sales team, providing training, resources, and support to enhance performance and productivity, while ensuring client satisfaction and consistently exceeding expectations.
  • Analyze market trends and customer insights to identify new business opportunities and growth areas, utilize CRM tools to track performance, manage leads, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Create strong relationships with C-suite executives in medical facilities to build long-term or repeated contracts on an ongoing basis.



Required Qualifications:

* 5+ years of Locum Tenens staffing sales experience, no other industries will be considered.

  • Exceptional presentation, sales, and time management skills to generate a pipeline of leads through various channels and to develop and deliver impactful sales presentations to key clients.
  • Adept at identifying areas for improvement and deriving a sales strategy to guide the division to success.
  • Influential communication skills to convey information effectively with this division.
  • Proven management experience leading cross-functional teams and driving scalable sales and revenue growth through effective business development strategies.
  • Strong aptitude for quickly mastering systems, including CRM, project management software, Microsoft Office, social media, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to understand and address client needs quickly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in leadership, particularly in guiding and motivating sales and recruiting teams to achieve targets and drive performance.
