Surgical Technologist CVOR Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- The Surgical Technologist CVOR acts as a resource in an Inova Fairfax Medical Campus CVOR.
- Assists OR Service Leader to ensure unit compliance with quality, safety, regulatory requirements, and JCAHO standards.
- Demonstrates leadership traits and supporting behavioral competencies.
- Assists the OR Service Leader in analyzing data, ensuring team adherence to performance standards, and improving processes continuously.
- Serves as primary liaison and information resource for specialty.
- Oversees the provision of therapeutic care in a holistic, evidence-based environment that produces excellent patient care with optimal patient outcomes.
- Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.
- Provides mentoring to the OR team. Works collaboratively and has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines.
- Uses and demonstrates clinical expertise in the assessment of staff learning needs, capabilities, and readiness.
- Demonstrates superior knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques in the role of a surgical technologist. Supports the OR Service Leader's goals. Interacts with and contributes to the professional growth of Surgical Tech team members, colleagues, and others.
- Ensures efficient functioning of the specialty service and achievement of optimal patient outcomes.
Surgical Technologist CVOR Requirements:
- Certification - Basic Life Support upon start
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) via NCCT Licensure
- Registered Surgical Technologist with VA- Upon Start
- Experience - 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience in cardiac surgery
- Education - High School diploma or equivalent
