Overview of Position:

The Fixed Operations Director oversees all fixed operations departments, service, parts and collision centers in all of our dealerships. This position is responsible for the customer experience, policies, procedures, efficiency, and performance of these departments. As with all positions within our organization, the fixed operations director is expected to uphold the highest ethical standards while adhering to our Guiding Principles.

Responsibilities:



  • Establish and maintain all fixed operations operating standards and performance expectations, including all fixed operations standard operating policies and procedures.
  • Prepare a fixed operations annual operating budget, strategic goals and objectives for each department and monitors and controls performance in relation to expectations.
  • In conjunction with general managers, set and communicate monthly goals and objectives for fixed operations.
  • Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and training of managers for the service, parts, and collision centers.
  • Works with general managers and department managers to improve profitability and efficiency to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the overall customer experience in fixed operations.
  • Responsible for manufacturer warranty administration. Works directly with department heads and warranty clerk to ensure effective, efficient, and compliant warranty claims processing.
  • Creates dealership service and pricing policies.
  • Maintain processes that drive high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Utilize a quality control program to validate completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
  • Manage reports and reporting systems required by executive management and the factory.
  • Organizes and holds department meetings.
  • In conjunction with marketing, develop and implement a fixed operations marketing plan which promotes new and repeat business.
  • Facilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends employees to appropriate training schools as needed. Oversees fixed operations training curriculum.
  • Responsible for fixed operations performance pay plans; ensuring that they attract and retain top talent by rewarding performance.
  • Accountable for fixed operations risk management strategy including compliance with all safety practices and government regulations.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personal recruitment activities.
  • Maintains working relationship with the union representative and attends union negotiations.
  • Monitors technicians' productivity reports and corresponding payroll records to ensure effectiveness.
  • You are required to not only understand and keep abreast of the federal, state, and local regulations that affect operations, but also to comply with these regulations as well as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know regulations. You will provide necessary training on these regulations and ethical practices.
  • Responsible for all vendor relationships and management associated fixed operations and facilities, including all direct repair program relationships with insurance companies.
  • Responsible for facilities management.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university is preferred
  • At least 7 years of automotive service management experience is required
  • Understanding and compliance of federal, state, and local regulations
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with many priorities
  • Ability to set and accomplish goals
  • Proven track record of cost-effective strategies
  • Must have experience with dealer management systems
  • Experience with warranty claim management
  • Desire to coach and train teams to exceed their goals
  • Excellent computer skills needed
  • Positive attitude with excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with an ability to delegate
  • Ability to be analytical, problem solve and multitask
