The Project Manager will provide capital project management services and ownership of the real estate portfolio for Alcon sites in North America under the leadership of the AFS Global Engineering Director.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Maintains oversight of key design/construction projects and initiatives to ensure the execution and goals are achieved. Works closely with site leadership teams to ensure project success.
• Overall management of capital projects up to $10M / $20M aggregate.
• Overall management of operating expenses for North America region Real Estate.
• Directly accountable for adherence to project budget and reporting to Sr. Management.
• Directly accountable for establishing and maintaining schedule on major capital projects.
• Responsible for design and scope development per customer requirements.
• Responsible for the direction of the project through the construction phase and for controlling costs and change orders.
• Responsible for design and construction quality, including reviews, site walks, punch-outs, etc.
• Assist Alcon MTO sites in North America and the franchise engineering heads with CAPEX planning and CAR development.
• Ownership of the real estate portfolio for the region. This includes assisting with property searches, term negotiation, management of lease renewals, optimization of portfolio in assigned region.
• Provide cost estimating support to Sr. Project Manager and/or Alcon internal partners for project feasibility and justification.
• Identifies and resolves obstacles such as misalignment between the business and supporting functions. Partner with site leadership for resolution of gaps which inhibit strategy, operations and project execution.
• Works and collaborates with a wide range of internal partners (e.g. Manufacturing Tech Ops, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Health/Safety, Commercial, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, MS&T) to ensure alignment on projects and long-term initiatives.
• Travel Requirement: 25% - 50%

Schedule: Mon-Fri: 8:00AM-5:00PM CST (May require occasional work during weekends and off-schedule hours due to business requirements)

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• BS in Engineering or Construction Management. Ideally Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.

  English

• 7-10 years experience in design and/or construction related projects.
• Proven experience in project management, change management and consulting
• Experience working in cross functional teams across multiple geographies
• Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels of the organization
• Proven analytical skills

• Delivery of accurate up-to-date reports and analysis
• Ability to develop strong partnerships with key Alcon staff and external contractors
