PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products. As a Rotating Equipment Planner, you will plan and execute jobs in the rotating equipment discipline, supporting base maintenance, major maintenance, turnarounds, and capital projects as needed. You will work closely with multiple operating area teams to enhance operational safety and equipment availability. In this role, you will be a technical resource, providing expertise to rotating equipment advisors, maintenance foremen, and millwrights for troubleshooting and repairing rotating equipment. Additionally, you will develop and deliver training programs to maintenance and operational personnel to improve their knowledge and skills in rotating equipment and related systems.

 

To succeed as the Rotating Equipment Planner, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, related field, or equivalent technical experience in rotating equipment maintenance and planning.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in rotating equipment maintenance, planning, and execution within the oil and gas, refinery, or petrochemical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of turnaround planning, project management, SAP work order, and cost management systems.
  • Experience with contractor management, purchase orders, and ensuring budget, schedule, and QA standards adherence.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and improve rotating equipment performance, with experience in root cause failure analysis and equipment repair processes.

 

Your responsibilities as the Rotating Equipment Planner will also include:        

  • Plan, cost, and execute all rotating equipment activities during turnarounds, ensuring projects progress on schedule and within budget while managing work orders and contractor costs in SAP.
  • Oversee purchase order (PO) creation, changes, and cost predictability, and authorize timesheets for assigned contractors to ensure efficient resource management.
  • Remove barriers to ensure high craft productivity, drive KPI compliance, and address issues related to productivity, schedule attainment, and work permit delays.
  • Manage critical spare parts, ensure adherence to QA plans, review and approve equipment repair reports, and ensure compliance with company specifications and standards.
  • Support root cause failure analysis, share lessons learned and best practices with Pemex Engineering and Production Unit Managers, and maintain technical documentation per company policy.
