PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products. As the Pressure Equipment Integrity (PEI) Engineer, you will provide technical support across the Refinery production areas to sustain stable operations, ensure plant changes, plan maintenance outages, and implement value-added capital projects.

 

To thrive/succeed as the PEI Engineer, you should have:        

·        BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of related experience in Pressure (/static) Equipment Engineering and Mechanical Equipment Integrity.

·        Practical knowledge of Refinery work processes, production unit configurations, process equipment, design engineering practices, and general project procedures is desired.

·        Knowledge of risk assessment, risk-based inspection methodologies, management of change process, and problem-solving / continuous improvement techniques. 

·        Experience and proficiency with applications like CAESAR-II, PV-Elite, Compress, Nozzle Pro software, and FFS analysis tools. Prior experience with SharePoint, SAP, and Visio would be a plus.

·        Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects. Demonstrated skill in working with teams to achieve a common goal.

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization.  

 

Your responsibilities as the PEI Engineer will include:        

  • Develop and review technical requirements for plant changes and projects, ensuring compliance with pressure equipment regulations, codes, standards, and company practices.
  • Support plant change management and project activities, including hazard analysis, design, and commissioning, while reviewing and approving related MOC tasks.
  • Prepare, evaluate, and approve specifications and procurement packages, ensuring pressure equipment and materials meet technical and vendor approval requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for fired and unfired heat transfer equipment, including heaters, boilers, flares, heat exchangers, and related systems.
  • Perform engineering calculations and collaborate with internal and external resources to deliver technically sound and cost-effective solutions.
