POSITION SUMMARY:

With general guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing a variety of product support duties of moderate scope and complexity while following and assisting in the development of procedures and processes in one or more of the following functions: raw stock, parts identification, shipping, receiving, stockroom, stock handling, clean operations, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

PARTS IDENTIFICATION:



  1. Identify parts using the proper identification methods and equipment indicated by the traveller and/or blueprint.
  2. Layout exact dimensions and locations on the parts for identification markings.



SHIPPING:



  1. Prepare parts and/or materials to assure safe handling for shipment, including the completion of the necessary paperwork and shipping records.
  2. Prepare packaging per specifications for shipment, including computer input for necessary labels, forms, and shipping records.
  3. Interpret shipping instructions as referenced on company documents or customer, government specifications or standards related to preservation and packing.
  4. Prepare stencils and mark shipments in a legible manner.
  5. Prepare air bills, bills of lading and sales order forms for the carrier and company records.
  6. Contact carriers for dispatching shipments, establishing rates or tracing follow-up information.



STOCKROOM:



  1. Receive material, check and identify parts by type or part number.
  2. Prepare parts for storage and place stock in proper locations as directed.
  3. Select parts from stock to fill orders according to parts lists.
  4. Perform cycle inventory count.
  5. Maintain, update and access necessary records utilizing a computer.
  6. If applicable, execute some advanced Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) functions, such as add requisition, release requisition, edit, fill shortages and delete requisition.
  7. Prioritize workload as needed and perform basic maintenance as required of equipment.



CLEAN OPERATIONS:



  1. Observe all safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  2. Perform other related responsibilities.



JOB REQUIREMENTS:



  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • U.S. Citizenship/Permanent Resident is required for this position.


  • Minimum of 2 years related product support experience or demonstrated ability to perform described position responsibilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and systems in several functional areas and ability to effectively troubleshoot problem situation.
  • May be required to operate moving and saw equipment safely, adhering to OSHA safety standards.
  • May require forklift operator certificate.
  • Proficient knowledge of computer terminal operations.
  • Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting related forms and specifications.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.


  • Physical demand: May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and standing.



TYPICAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time. The team member is required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to pull stock, assemble parts, and use test equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the team member is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
