The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) manages the efficient flow of electricity on more than 11,000 circuit-miles of high-voltage transmission lines, dispatching power from hundreds of generating units across the state. The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the Empire State's energy future. The NYISO invites applications for a full-time Senior Administrative Assistant. This position will support the administration of three executive functions at the NYISO: the office of general counsel, the corporate compliance program, and the corporate secretary. The candidate will (i) support the administration of NYISO's in-house legal department, (ii) support the company's compliance function in conjunction with the senior compliance attorney, compliance advisor, and non-legal subject matter experts, and (iii) support the corporate secretary on matters related to the NYISO board of directors, corporate records, and C-suite clerical duties. The position will have a dual reporting relationship with the Executive Vice President, General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer and the Secretary to the Board of Directors. The candidate must possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, be able to process and protect confidential and highly sensitive information, and be capable of functioning with a high degree of autonomy. The Candidate must be willing to undertake a wide variety of responsibilities ranging from day-to-day secretarial and clerical duties to more complex legal, compliance, and corporate matters. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Contact with staff and public will occur. Travel may be required to attend and/or conduct meetings, conferences and training. This position will require full-time attendance in office and may require work on nights, weekends or holidays.
