Disaster Recovery Planner

Key Role:

Work in a team of experienced Business Continuity (BC), Disaster Recovery (DR), All-Hazards Crisis Management, and Cybersecurity Incident Response (IR) professionals to support clients in designing and implementing best-in-class technology recovery capabilities. Contribute to complex, concurrent projects for large, commercial clients and develop high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment. Advise clients on the latest cybersecurity and recovery trends to clearly convey how DR, BC, and IR enable commercial organizations to navigate highly impactful data destruction, ransomware, and data exfiltration events. Evolve, design, and apply Booz Allen's services to assess clients' enterprise recovery capabilities, develop technology recovery procedures, evaluate backup & restore solutions, and support facilitation and evaluation of technology-focused tabletop exercises and functional recovery exercises. Individually supports proposal development, client delivery, and project management. Due to the nature of work performed, U.S. citizenship and geo location is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience contributing to a Disaster Recovery program by leveraging working relationships, formal processes, and technologies to identify obstacles and construct optimal solutions for specific challenges
  • 2+ years of experience in supporting projects with commercial organizations or supporting cross-functional teams in a large corporate environment demonstrating ability to independently drive development of key work product or deliverables while meeting tight timelines
  • Experience with engaging senior leaders (Directors and above) to develop and implement DR programs that enable stakeholders to scale programmatic activities across diverse technology environments (e.g., Cloud, On-prem, Hybrid), geographical regions, and a broad range of users
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and supporting areas such as system architecture, technology development lifecycle, recovery requirements, storage platforms, database management systems, network technologies, backup and restore solutions, security, and operating systems
  • Experience populating Configuration Management Database (CMDB) attributes and mapping systems that directly support internal business processes, consumer-facing products, and manufacturing or distribution facilities.
  • Ability to be a self-starter, thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, lead and mentor others, work independently, and foster collaborative environments while leading multiple projects across challenging commercial and consulting environments
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Certified ABCP, CBCP, MBCP or relevant technical certification
  • Experience working in a consulting or customer service delivery role
  • Experience supporting a company recover from a material disruption or disaster
  • Experience with developing disaster recovery plans, runbooks, and failover exercises
  • Experience with Microsoft applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Copilot
  • Ability to write and edit articles for public dissemination, showcasing thought leadership in cybersecurity and recovery best practices in support of sales and marketing objectives

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
