The University of North Carolina System
Feb 05, 2025

About the Opportunity
PBS North Carolina's
Children's Media and Engagement Department focuses on creating meaningful
connections with children, families, and educators through high-quality
educational media and outreach initiatives. The department supports PBS's
mission by enhancing access to PBS KIDS resources, fostering community
partnerships, and engaging diverse audiences with on-air, online, and
on-the-ground programming that promotes lifelong learning.

The Children's Media and
Engagement Intern will play a key role in advancing the department's goals by
assisting in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives
designed to engage children and families across North Carolina. This intern will
gain hands-on experience in community outreach, program planning, and content
development, contributing to projects that support PBS KIDS programming,
educational campaigns, and special events. The intern will also help build
relationships with community partners, analyze engagement metrics, and develop
creative strategies to expand the reach and impact of PBS educational
resources. This is an excellent opportunity to explore the intersection of
education, media, and community engagement while making a tangible difference
in the lives of North Carolina's children and families. This internship
provides an opportunity to collaborate across different functions within the
Children's Media and Engagement Department, building skills in project
management, event coordination, community engagement, and education-focused
programming.

This position will work onsite at the Bryan Center in Research Triangle Park, NC. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
