Ricardo Defense, Inc. (RDI) is seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Manager of Business Development to drive the growth and expansion of our U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Sustainment, Technical Services, Digital Logistics, and Solutions Products businesses. As a key position within our organization, the successful Manager of Business Development candidate will develop and execute strategic initiatives to capture new opportunities, foster long-term customer relationships, and position RDI as a trusted partner to the DoD. This is a unique opportunity for a results-driven professional with industry expertise, a proven track record of business development success, and a passion for delivering creative solutions that support the mission-critical needs of our nation's warfighters. Location for this position is preferably near our Troy, MI office. Open to remote applicants in the Eastern and Central time zone. This position will require up to 50% travel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of business development strategies to expand RDI's presence within the DoD sector outside of the TACOM, GVSC, and ACC - Detroit Arsenal market
- Assess industry trends, funding priorities, and competitive landscapes to drive focused pursuits in RDI's target markets outside of Detroit.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities aligned with RDI's strategic focus areas and maintained within a CRM tool that is used on a daily basis.
- Grows the pipeline through opportunity identification, assessment and maturation aligned with business unit strategic objectives.
- Ensures pipeline sufficiency to achieve annual and long-range growth objectives.
- Translates business unit strategic plans into operating results.
- Develops manages and executes customer engagement plans aligned to appropriate leadership levels within the organization.
- Cultivates networks across all DoD areas and interfaces with customers.
- Provides decision support to leadership with strong business cases for pursuing new growth opportunities.
- Manages internal budgets required to execute new business growth activities.
- Ensures compliance with the RDI Growth Process to ensure the development of quality products and successful business outcomes.
- Oversees the development of sound win strategies for targets within the business development portfolio.
- Collaborates with capture managers to identify resources to close on capture and proposal requirements through proposal delivery.
- Supports the transition of proposal awards to successful program execution.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Software, and Program Delivery organizations to match customer needs with company capabilities.
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards, company policies, and federal acquisition regulations.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Government SECRET Security Clearance. The minimum requirement to obtain a Secret Clearance is United States Citizenship. Only candidates that meet this requirement will be considered.
- A Minimum of five years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the Department of Defense sector, with a focus on pursuing and capturing DOD contracts.
- Prior military experience preferred, but not required.
- A demonstrated track record of building a successful qualified opportunity pipeline and transitioning leads into captured awards.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with DoD stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, policies, and requirements.
- Experience working within a CRM and/or pipeline management tool, on a regular basis.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Description
$122,500 - $135,000
