The University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) is seeking a Manager Engineering. This position will report to the Sr. Dir. Facility Operations and will be responsible for monitoring the performance of equipment critical to the efficient and operation of the reactor, isotope production and research activities at the Missouri University Research Reactor (MURR). This includes the development and maintenance of an exceptionally qualified and skilled group of engineers that will monitor equipment performance and develop maintenance strategies that will ensure a high level of facility performance.

Key Duties Performed by this position will include

* Overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Facility Operations Engineering Department, establishing the highest levels of performance for personnel and nuclear safety.
* Establish the necessary programs and processes that ensure regulatory compliance.
* Establish a high level of engineering engagement with Operations and Work Management processes to ensure a high level of facility equipment reliability, as well as schedule and budget adherence.
* Maintain an Engineering budget and forecast that ensures a balance between maintaining strong equipment performance and reliability as well as proper stewardship of engineering resources and processes.
* Providing technical support for facility emergent issues, creating and supporting cross-functional troubleshooting teams to promptly address emergent equipment issues.
* Establish the necessary procedures and processes to ensure a high level of equipment reliability particularly in the areas of reactor operations, NCA production, and research support.
* Establish the necessary processes and programs to address equipment obsolescence issues before impacting facility performance.
* Establish the necessary processes and programs to address equipment obsolescence issues before impacting facility performance.
* Assign engineering staff as project support or owners as necessary to ensure that project excellence is maintained.
* Establish and maintain a highly qualified Engineering staff through the development and maintenance of a top-quality training program covering initial facility training and a recurring training module covering changes and upgrades to the facility.

In Addition, the Individual will
* Identify and solve highly technical and operational problems through collaborative efforts of the whole MURR team.
* The ideal candidate will be a persuasive communicator with exceptional organizational and time management skills, that demonstrate customer service, collaboration, confidentiality, integrity and a commitment to university values in their activities

Monday - Friday, 8AM to 5PM but will require work outside of this schedule as needed. This includes holidays and university closures

A Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

* 2-4 years technical supervisory experience.
* Nuclear and /or radiological facility experience.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 per year
