What You'll Do

The data visualization developer is responsible for the development of content to support production activities and reporting for the Y-12 National Security Complex. A candidate for this position will need to work with several cross-function departments to verify data collection methods and accuracy.

Responsibilities include:



  • Developing reporting visuals and dashboards to support production metrics and decision making
  • Managing and improving existing reporting systems
  • Provide analytic services to leadership
  • Assisting in and development of processes and prioritization of projects
  • Provide support and mentoring for other analysts
  • Help to develop practices, rules, and strategy for long term data architecture
  • Develop and maintain dashboard visuals and data cleaning flows
  • Communicate with internal users as part of checks for accuracy of information
  • Provide data reporting support for other organizations
  • Interacts with internal teams, including management, to achieve overall organizational goals
  • Knowledge of a range of principles, theories, professional competencies, work methods, and knowledge of other job specialties and functions.
  • Conduct data cleaning and analysis to problem solve and enhance decision making
  • Apply industry and internal best practices to maintain content security through the use of data, content, and row-level security restrictions as needed
  • Assist users with workflows
  • Ability to write/troubleshoot/optimize SQL queries, as needed
  • Take part in discussions with business partners to identify functional requirements resulting in development customer-driven Tableau content products (dashboards, views, data prep, etc.)
  • Other duties may be assigned related to Operations and Production Control

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline

Preferred Job Requirements

  • ERP system experience (SAP preferred)
  • SQL Experience
  • Statistical software experience (R, Python, etc.)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • 1+ years of Tableau experience (including scholastic experience)
  • Knowledge of data visualization design techniques
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of database structures
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Project management

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
