Position Overview:The Software Engineer is responsible for the production of quality code, effective team participation, and contributions to the continuous improvement of the team. Responsibilities:
  • Active and productive member of the Ecommerce Mobile Application Development team as an Android (Kotlin and Java languages) developer..

  • Provide Java application software development functions in a support role on other applications as needed or determined by Ecommerce Core Operations priorities emerge.

  • Build and deliver systems using software development best practices and architectural guidelines that meets business purpose

  • Participate in the analysis, implementation, and adoption of new or modified work methods, processes, and technologies

  • Participate in the analysis and debug existing systems and provide recommendations for improvements

  • Participate in writing of technical documentation including but not limited to readme, design, api, etc

  • Participate in the work planning for development tasks, preparing time estimates, and monitor project completion using standard project management tools. (for Agile/Sprint Review, etc.)

  • Deliver excellent customer service with urgency and ownership

  • Provide assistance to team members to accomplish team objectives

  • Demonstrate proven behavioral skills, including being a team player, sound thinking and judgment, achieving results, relating to people, managing work effectively, and leading by example

  • Participate in Developer Community of Practice

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 4 years relevant work experience

  • Must be detail Orientated

  • Previous demonstratable experience coding (Kotlin and Java) using Android Studio and deploying Android applications.

  • Previous demonstratable experience coding Java applications (web) and related IDEs and Build and Release tools.

  • Previous experience with application development on either Azure or AWS or both.

  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Experience on Scrum or Kanban development teams.

  • Experience with NodeJS for API work is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, problem solving & customer service skills

  • Actively exchange ideas with others and build on their ideas to identify new solutions

  • Able to work independently or collaboratively and maintain a positive attitude

  • Outstanding planning & Organizational skills participation, and contributions to the continuous improvement of the team.

  • Continually striving to gather current knowledge and information relevant to business needs in order to achieve results

  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times

  • Able to initiate action and build relationships within the department

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Physical Requirements:

* Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen
* Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body

Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is:

$70,600

to

$97,100

Many factors influence the determination of base pay within a range, including the candidate's work experience in related roles; the candidate's knowledge, skills, capabilities, and performance; the relative pay of other DigiKey employees in similar roles; and the budget available for the position.
