POSITION SUMMARY




As Director of Master Data Management (MDM), you will work closely with IT and business functions to establish, refine, and deploy core data management policies and procedures across the enterprise. You will guide a federated team of data stewards and governance specialists to drive data quality and relevancy across the organization. This is an outstanding opportunity to build a high-functioning operational data management and stewardship program.

* Work with Enterprise Data teams and business owners to set strategic goals and initiatives for CDM/MDM platform

* Establish a federated data stewardship program with representation from all relevant data domains and business functions

* Improve overall quality of critical data elements and operational efficiency

* Align business teams with IT teams to ensure data quality efforts are complete across enterprise systems

* Coordinate survivorship rules within CDM/MDM platform and accountable for ensuring expected outcome

* Establish policies and procedures for acquiring new data and data lifecycle management

* Provide expert level input and guidance for establishing a lasting data management program with tangible results

Essential Functions:

Data Governance:




  • Ensure best practices related to Data Lifecycle Management (DLM) and Master Data Governance (quality, integrity, management, ownership, access, security and control protection and archiving)



  • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, standards and best practices to support ongoing data management activities. Implement and enforce data governance policies and best practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity during the integration process.



  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of integration processes, data flows, mappings, and configurations for reference and knowledge sharing. Create Design Document and data models addressing business needs for the client MDM environment.



  • Collaborate with a team of Business Stewards to ensure data assets are curated to maximize business value to data users.

Data Management:




  • Understand full master data lifecycle (including unique business and legal data requirements of various functions) and how quality data can be best provided, analyzed, preserved and optimized to leverage business benefit



  • Assess the current state architecture & understand current business processes for managing and implementing Master Data Management solutions across all business groups.



  • Develop and execute a robust integration strategy for MDM systems aligning it with the organization's data management objectives and business requirements.



  • Plan and coordinate the integration of MDM systems with existing IT infrastructure, applications, and databases, considering data synchronization, transformation, and cleansing requirements.



  • Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to define data models and mapping rules, enabling seamless data exchange between MDM systems and various applications.



  • Prepare the to-be architecture including data ingestion, data quality rules, data model, match/merge, workflows, UI, batch integration and real-time services.



  • Oversee the design and implementation of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) or Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes for data movement and transformation.

Organizational Change Management / Leadership:




  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data governance, IT, application owners, and business stakeholders, to align integration efforts with organizational goals.



  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of MDM specialists, including resource allocation, performance management and professional development.



  • Partner with IT teams and external vendors to leverage technology solutions and tools for effective master data management.



  • Collaborate with other team members to review prototypes and develop iterative revisions.



  • Provide effective Organizational Change Management leadership

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:



*

10 + years of experience in defining Master Data strategies, implementing MDM services and capabilities, Data Modeling, Master Data frameworks and process facilitation, Metadata Management, Data Governance and Data Quality Solutions


*

5+ years of experience with adopting and implementing commercial MDM solutions (ie: Profisee, Informatica, Semarchy)


*

5+ years of experience with ETL design and development, and OLAP tools to support business applications


*

5+ Healthcare industry experience preferred.


*

Demonstrated expertise in writing and overseeing the writing of complex SQL queries for data cleansing, transformation, and normalization across large intricate datasets to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and performance optimization


*

Exposure to working in cloud native SQL environments such as GCP BigQuery and Cloud SQL or equivalent for managing and processing large datasets


*

Proven track record of leading automation of data workflows using tools like Apache Airflow, GCP Cloud Functions, or similar technologies


*

Excellent program/project management skills and the ability to move groups forward and maintain momentum.


*

Strong coaching skills and the ability to transfer change management knowledge and skills effectively.


*

Ability to perform under minimum direction, with high personal energy, and a positive approach to dealing with challenges and ambiguity.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience required. Master's degree in related field is preferred.

  • MDM technology (Profisee, Realtio, Informatica, etc)
  • Cloud based platforms to include CRM, ERP, CLM, & HRIS systems

POSITION COMPENSATION

The salary range for new employees in this position is $147,053.57 - $183,816.97, based on background, experience, and skills. In addition, new employees in this position are eligible for all of our benefit offerings, including, but not limited to, health and welfare benefits, 403(B) retirement savings, and paid time off (PTO).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS




This position operates in a remote environment and requires the individual to remain in a stationary position, whether sitting or standing, before a desk or other fixed workspace, most of their workday. In addition, this position requires the individual to occasionally move about their workspace to access and inspect work-related materials, such as file cabinets with physical files and standard office equipment. This position requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, including, but not limited to, a laptop, keyboard, mouse, webcam, and phone, as well as effectively communicate information and ideas to a wide variety of audiences in written and oral form.
